A previously published paper introduced the foundation of Reader-Centric Requirements Engineering and motivated the need to view requirements not only as authored statements, but also as information artifacts consumed by intended readers.

This publication provides the conceptual basis for the current RCRE research direction. The present work extends this foundation by operationalizing reader-centricity as a construct-based measurement model.

Operationalizing Reader-Centricity in Requirements Engineering: A Construct-Based Measurement Model for Consumable Requirements

This manuscript develops a construct-based measurement model for reader-centricity in requirements engineering. It conceptualizes reader-centricity through three dimensions:

  • Role-Interrogativity,
  • Interpretability,
  • Actionability.

The manuscript further explains how Requirements Profiles can instantiate the model for specific reader roles, engineering tasks, required information, and accessible artifacts.
